Kauai Horseback Adventure

On this all day adventure for the spirit and the spirited, riders start off at a brisk pace, trotting and cantering an easy stretch of trail. You will ride up and down the volcanic ridges and across knife passes high in the mountains, with unspoiled views of the interior of Kauai.

Spectacular sights await you! After 3 hours in the saddle, arrive at a mountain swimming hole where a deli lunch is served. Guests should bring swim gear and towel; a private changing area is available.

On the ride back photo opportunities abound. Extra film is a must for this ride. All riders should be fit, ready to trot and canter, be able to mount and dismount their horses and be comfortable with heights.

Important Information:
Trail rides are limited to 5 guests, ages 10 and up. Guides reserve the right to determine suitability of ride for trail conditions and rider's expertise. All rides begin with an orientation lesson in the arena, and go out rain or shine; rain gear is provided. Long pants and socks are required (available for rent at a nominal charge), riding helmets and boots are required and provided at no cost. Bottled water is provided on all rides. A pack is provided that will strap to the saddle; riders may put their camera in the pack.

All riders must wear long pants down to the ankles and wear long socks up to the calves. Riders will be provided with a helmet and boots, and they must be worn.

Rides are held rain or shine. Raincoats are provided.

From Hwy. 56 (Kuhio Hwy.) turn on Hwy. 580 (Kuamoo Rd.) Go 2.7 miles. Turn RIGHT on Hwy. 581 (Kamalu Rd.) Go 1.6 miles to end of Kamalu Rd. Turn LEFT on Olohena Rd. Go 1.5 miles. Turn RIGHT on Kualapa Pl. Go to end of Kualapa Pl. GO DOWN DRIVEWAY ON LEFT IN LOW GEAR.

Directions from North of Kapaa (Anahola, Princeville, Hanalei, etc.)
From Hwy. 56 (Kuhio Hwy.) turn RIGHT on Mailihuna Rd. (just at south end of Kealia Beach) Go 1/2 mile. Turn RIGHT on Kawaihau Rd. Go 3.5 miles. Turn LEFT on Kainahola Rd. (Look for Growing Greens Plant Nursery on the right just before it). Go 1 mile on twisting road, it will end in a forced LEFT turn onto Olohena Rd. Go one block. Turn LEFT onto Kualapa Pl. Go to end of Kualapa Pl. GO DOWN DRIVEWAY ON LEFT IN LOW GEAR.
